What is mildew?

Powdery mildew is a species of fungi that prefer warm, dry climates. They grow like a disease on many different kinds of plants. Some plants are vulnerable, others are not. The spores are easily spread through wind or moving objects like yourself.

How to recognize mildew?

In the early stages, it’s almost impossible to notice. Look for powdery mildew by checking for flour-like circular patches on your Cannabis plants’ leaves. Mildew attacks the youngest plant first, spreading from one to another. Eventually, it will spread everywhere. You’ll notice a damp or musty odor coming from the leaves.

How to treat mildew?

Let’s talk about the best ways to get rid of mildew in the most effective and natural way. The most important is to act fast!

As soon as you spot mildew, you need to stop the airflow. This way you prevent the fungus to spread even more. The next thing you need to do is get rid of the most infected parts. Get a plastic bag and use it to take the leaves off. The spores are like little clouds of dust, so you need the bag to prevent them from spreading.

After removing the leaves. you prepare a spray of milk. Add 60% percent water and 40% milk in a spray bottle. Spray it on the leaves. Another option is to create a mixture of two teaspoons of baking soda in 4 liters of water. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on the infected leaves.
